Irene Clewell served as a secretary in many of the schools that make up the Kettle Moraine School District. In November of 1965, she started working at Cushing Elementary while her three children were in classes there. One of her duties at that time was to sell school lunch tickets. She saw firsthand that some students didn’t have lunches and was aware that often there were those without pencils or notebooks for basic class work.
Moving to various grade schools, the high school, district offices, and then the middle school, Irene worked for KM for 31 years. She truly enjoyed her work with the principals, teachers, and her fellow secretaries.
During her tenure, she was dedicated to the effective functioning of the local schools, contributing her skills to help make a difference for the students. KM ALUMS ARE DOING AMAZING THINGS! Jocelyn Heckenkamp graduated in the class of 2020 and was KMHS's valedictorian as well as a National Merit Scholar. She is still an academic super star, graduating with honors from the Marine Corps Base at Quantico's Platoon Leaders Course (PLC) with the highest overall GPA in her class. In addition to being an extraordinary student, Jocelyn competed in cross country, track & field, soccer and rock climbing while at KMHS. She was a three-time state champion in rock climbing and a champion in speed climbing. Her incredible mental and physical discipline will undoubtedly serve her well as she prepares to graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas. LYBA BASKETBALL – Draft Night is October 30. Online registration is now open for recreational basketball at KM Middle School for boys and girls grades 3-8. The season begins in December and concludes in February. Teams will practice one night per week with Saturday games and a season-ending tournament. CLASSIC 8 CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS!!!! The Lasers came out big last night in a defensive match up against Muskego that was plagued with swirling rain and cool temps. After a scoreless first half, the general consensus was that the first team to score would win. The Lasers had other plans! Muskego did indeed score first, but the Lasers answered quickly with a touchdown of their own... AND WENT FOR TWO! Making the score 8-7 KM. Muskego fought the clock and pushed down the field, but were stopped by the Laser's defense on fourth down to end the game. It was an emotional win and the soaked student section exploded onto the field in celebration. KM has officially won their first Classic 8 Conference title, entering the playoffs undefeated. GO LASERS!!!

On October 10, 2023, Dousman 5th graders traveled to The Overture Center in Madison to enjoy the musical "The Wiz" performed by The Children's Theater of Madison. Students followed the characters on an exciting journey through the land of Oz while tapping their feet to the soulful production. In addition, students had the opportunity to visit the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. They saw and learned about contemporary art, the artists' style, and the material choices of Federico Uribe and Sam Gilliam. Moreover, students enjoyed spectacular views and the rooftop sculpture garden. Students and staff had an exciting adventure of the performing and visual arts tied to a current literacy unit.
